With Abingdon right on your doorstep, there’s no excuse to not wander around the lively market town upon your arrival.  However, sometimes it’s worth jumping in the car and popping a little further afield, where you can enjoy the gorgeous town of Thame.

Abingdon

Located just over the bridge, The Crown & Thistle is located perfectly to explore this market town that still enjoys the unique atmosphere of a lively market. As well as the many community events and stalls that pop up on a regular basis, there are plenty of farmers’ markets and craft fairs. Steeped in history dating back to the Saxon era, it is steeped in history.  And with plenty of shopping, with cute independent stores and the Monday farmers market, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Thame

Although slightly further afield, the market town of Thame is well worth a visit. 18 miles from The Crown & Thistle, Thame is home to historical buildings, beautiful parks, a museum and a vibrant High Street.  An ancient market town with historical influences from the Gothic church to the Victorian town hall. A gorgeous place to visit when staying with us.
